I was born in New York, NY and grew up overseas. I lived for 8 years in Africa (Senegal, Mali and Madagascar), and for 6 years in the Caribbean (mostly Haiti, with short stays in Grenada and the Dominican Republic.) I came back to the US right before college.

As a result of my travels, I am frequently asked how many languages I speak! I am most comfortable in English and French (I was in the French school system for primary and middle school). I have also learned some Haitian Creole, Polish and Arabic.
